Logicalis highlights the impact of digital transformation in data centers

With the rising of new technologies increasingly connected to the business, such as the Internet of Things, the blockchain, and artificial intelligence, companies are beginning to worry more about the speed for processing and managing information. Accordingly, Logicalis, a global provider of information and communication technologies services and solutions, has been reinforcing its activities as advisor and cloud broker and, during the 2018 Gartner IT Infrastructure, Operations & Data Center Management Summit, intends to discuss the impacts caused by emerging technologies and to show how fundamental datacenters are now.

In recent years, businesses went through major transformations and, with them, demands have changed. However, most companies still have doubts when choosing the most suitable cloud model, the best provider, and deciding on the applications that should be moved there. To help them in this endeavor, Logicalis analyzes the needs of each organization and offers custom-made projects.

“After we identify the client’s business strategy, it’s possible to draw a path of evolution and help them define which cloud model is most suitable to their needs. But there isn’t one platform able to address all purposes, so we have to integrate and manage them to leverage the best out of the infrastructure,” explains Bruno Bortolato, Logicalis cloud manager.

Another current challenge faced by some companies is managing different clouds. Although using a multicloud infrastructure does offer flexibility and promptness to organizations, the management of such environment is still complex, especially regarding risks, compliance, governance, and cost control. Multicloud challenges are many and how to deal with them will be discussed in a lecture by Rodrigo Benzaquen, founding partner of NubeliU, a company specialized in cloud computing projects based on OpenStack that was acquired by Logicalis in 2017.

Furthermore, data centers must offer the necessary speed for viable new products and services’ time to market, following the application area’s movement with the rising of agile development, to be discussed in Bortolato’s lecture: “Agile infrastructure – how IT can accompany business areas’ timing.”

During the event, Logicalis will also host a roundtable debating the journey towards multicloud, from adoption strategy to management and optimization, to support the challenge of receiving, storing, and managing so much information. The event will take place on April 3rd and 4th, at Sao Paulo’s WTC.
