Logicalis, a global provider of information and communication technology services and solutions, has recently signed a partnership focused on the Internet of Things (IoT). With the purpose of accelerating smart grids’ growth in Brazil, the company includes Itron’s technology to its portfolio, global leading provider of technology and services dedicated to efficient water and energy usage.
Smart grid expansion in the country still depends on regulations, so the potential market is quite large. Facing this scenario, Logicalis and Itron have signed a partnership to offer energy generators and distributers a complete smart grid solution, which meets their needs for developing fully connected grid.
After the agreement, Itron’s measurers with adaptive communication technology, OpenWay, will collect electrical energy grid data, which will be sent to EUGENIO, Logicalis’ Internet of Things platform. In the platform, numerous information will be correlated, such as weather forecast and calendar, for instance, bringing better knowledge to energy distributors and improving decision-making.
“For us at Itron, working with Logicalis potentializes our technology’s presence in locations and markets we do not yet act, broadening our solutions’ portfolio, and meeting different clients’ profile”, said Emerson de Souza, Itron’s VP of sales, marketing and delivery for electricity.
For Logicalis’ marketing and alliances director, Renata Randi, the partnership with Itron is aligned with the company’s strategy to develop vertical Internet of Things solutions. “With this partnership, we can deliver a complete smart grid solution to energy distributors, from sensors to information analysis. Thus, we bring more intelligence to the business and simplify decision-making”, concluded the executive.
From this new partnership, Logicalis and Itron shall also work together to develop vertical IoT solution focused on agribusiness and smart cities.
